Before & After

Invisalign®

How does

Invisalign® in Rickmansworth work?

Invisalign® is made up of a series of clear, plastic, removable aligners which sit over the top of your teeth and comfortably guides teeth into their final position. Change your aligners on a weekly basis to allow for the gradual movement in your teeth.

Step 1

At your initial consultation, we will assess your teeth and gums and discuss what you would like to change about your smile.

We will then take pictures and 3D digital images of your teeth using a special software called ClinCheck. These images will show how your teeth look now, how your teeth will move during Invisalign® treatment and it will show how your teeth will look once treatment has finished. This allows you to see upfront how your finished smile will look.

These digital images form the basis of your Invisalign® treatment plan and will be used to custom make your unique aligners which will fit your teeth exactly.

Step 2

Once your Invisalign® aligners are ready, we will invite you back to the surgery in Rickmansworth to show you how to wear your aligners. You may find it strange at first, but you will soon get used to wearing your removable braces.

Step 3

Wear your Invisalign® aligners for a minimum of 20 hours a day and change the aligners on a weekly basis to the next set in the series to allow for the small movement in your teeth. Wear your aligners until your teeth have reached their final position and you can show off your stunning new smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Invisalign?

Patients from Northwood, Loudwater and Hertfordshire choose Inspire Dental for Invisalign because:

Is everyone suitable for Invisalign treatment?
6
7

Yes, most patients throughout Hertfordshire are suitable for Invisalign treatment. We need to assess your mouth at your initial consultation to make sure that your teeth and gums are in a relatively healthy condition. In some rare instances, like where a patient has a severe bite problem, we would not recommend using Invisalign.

How long does it take to straighten teeth using Invisalign?
6
7

Every patient is different, and it will depend upon the severity of your orthodontic case. Other factors will affect the length of treatment time such as whether you are wearing your Invisalign aligners for the recommended minimum of 20 hours a day. On average, most patients complete their teeth straightening with Invisalign within 12 months.

Do I really have to remove my Invisalign aligners every time I want to eat or drink?
6
7

We recommend taking your Invisalign aligners out before eating or drinking anything other than water. If you eat with your aligners in your mouth, you are likely to chew straight through them. Dark coloured foods and drinks like coffee or red wine are likely to stain your aligners making them unsightly and unhygienic. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you get into the routine of removing your Invisalign aligners before mealtimes.
